R'nges tends to not put a lot of effort into his appearance unless someone convinces him it's important, often wearing whatever he grabs first or what is functional for what he's doing. However, he is particular about keeping his hair dyed and his eye covered.

Despite being on the short side even by miqo'te standards, R'nges is athletic enough to manage a greatsword or scale an average building. He shows the marks of a rough-and-tumble lifestyle, with many incidental scars he doesn't recall the cause of littering his person.

Personality

Likes: Savoury foods, alcohol, spending time at the beach. His husband.
Dislikes: Overly sweet foods, crowded or overly formal parties, hospitals and infirmaries.
Talents: A skilled swordsman, sailor, and pickpocket. Learns spoken languages quickly.
Weaknesses: Extremely poor aether sensitivity. Can't read or write. Impulsive.

R'nges thinks of himself as fairly clever, though it often shows itself in the form of sarcastic remarks rather than meaningful contributions. He carries himself in the easy manner seen in most sailors, though if one looks closely they're likely to notice him being markedly more careful in unfamiliar environments.

Despite giving the impression of someone who loves to talk and often being ready to entertain with jokes or fun stories from his time as a sailor, R'nges tends to freeze up when asked in-depth questions about his past beyond that.

R'nges works for Carnation Corp and can often be found manning the bar. He might be busy, but he's always open for casual conversation while he works.

Haven't Seen You in Years
R'nges has lived in La Noscea for most of his life, but he's surprisingly well-traveled, even if he doesn't talk about it often. It's entirely possible he's crossed your path before.

Other
R'nges lives and works in Limsa Lominsa, so he's often wandering the city or loitering in one of the taverns or other establishments. Elsewise, he's often dragged to venues, clubs, and parties by friends and coworkers.

R'nges met Tristan Pierce during his time in The Holy See of Ishgard, where the man quickly won his way into his heart with his genuine kindness and gentle nature. The two became friends quickly regardless of their differing circumstances, and left Ishgard to travel Eorzea together.

On their travels, the two became acutely aware of their feelings for each other and began courting, though they wouldn't be wed until over a year later (on 7/28).

Backstory

R'nges can be guarded about his past, but that's not to say one can't learn anything from a bit of conversation.

He was born as the youngest child in a family of seven siblings, located in an isolated Miqo'te settlement on the northern coast of the Isle of Vylbrand, where he lived until leaving at age fourteen for reasons he doesn't seem keen to share.

Following his arrival to Limsa Lominsa proper, the young man signed on with a sailing crew and spent his teens and early twenties ferrying goods (and occasionally passengers) back and forth between Eorzea, Hingashi, and Thavnair. It was during this time that he learned his swordsmanship, as well as many of his other various skills. Despite citing many stories from this period as some of his happiest memories, he seems to have lost contact with everyone else involved, and he hates discussing them, especially around the time of The Rising.

Not much is known about what he did between his sailing days and the present. He'll admit to somehow having spent time in Ishgard, but aside from having met Tristan, he refuses to tell anyone the details of how he got there or what he did.

Perhaps the specifics are better told by R'nges himself, provided one can convince him to share them.
